A voluntary certification tool developed by the European Commission to help organizations assess, report, and improve their environmental performance. It includes the requirement to produce an Environmental Statement validated by an accredited third party.

Since 2008, Iris Ceramica Group materials have qualified for high LEED scores, containing over 40% recycled content by weight in accordance with ISO 14021.
EPD® (Environmental Product Declaration)
A voluntary international certification developed in Sweden, based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Iris Ceramica Group’s proprietary product EPD®, certified by Environdec since 2017, follows the “cradle-to-grave” approach and complies with ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards.
GreenGuard and GreenGuard Gold
American certifications issued by UL Environment, ensuring that products intended for indoor use have extremely low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), contributing to healthier interior environments.
NSF/ANSI 51 – 2014 – Food Equipment Materials
Certifies that Iris Ceramica Group slabs are suitable for food contact applications. Originally developed for commercial use (e.g., restaurants and bars), they are now also certified for direct food contact zones, including countertops and service areas (excluding storage and preservation applications).
Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver
Awarded by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, this label is one of the most advanced and comprehensive sustainability certifications, highly regarded among professionals committed to responsible and circular product design.
Declare Label®
A transparency label for building materials, allowing manufacturers to voluntarily disclose the composition, assembly location, lifespan, end-of-life options, and compliance with the Living Building Challenge®. It is the only label that checks materials against the “Red List” of the most hazardous chemicals to human health and the environment.
UNI EN ISO 14067: Product Carbon Footprint (CFP)
This standard quantifies the total greenhouse gas emissions directly or indirectly associated with a product throughout its life cycle, expressed in grams of CO₂ equivalent. ISO 14067 provides the framework for calculating and communicating this impact.
