LEED e Breeam

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and BREEAM environmental protocols

Among the most important voluntary scientific systems for validating energy and environmental performance, supporting the design, construction, and management of entire buildings through the analysis of various sustainability aspects. This recognition has been achieved by Iris Ceramica Group materials since 2008: the Group’s materials contain more than 40% recycled content by weight in accordance with ISO 14021, thus ensuring the highest scores under the LEED system.

EPD®

EPD® (Environmental Product Declaration)

A voluntary certification scheme originating in Sweden with international relevance, based on the analysis of the entire life cycle of a product and/or service (Life Cycle Assessment). The proprietary product-specific EPD® of Iris Ceramica Group, issued by the prestigious international body Environdec since 2017, has been drawn up according to the “cradle-to-grave” approach, in compliance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards.

GreenGuard e GreenGuard Gold

GreenGuard and GreenGuard Gold

U.S.-based certifications issued by UL Environment. They ensure that products intended for indoor use are characterized by virtually no emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), thus contributing to the creation of healthier environments.

NSF/ANSI 51

NSF/ANSI 51 – 2014 – Food Equipment Materials

Certifies that Iris Ceramica Group slabs can be used in applications involving contact with food. This U.S.-based certification was originally developed mainly for commercial applications (such as bars, restaurants, etc.). Today, ceramic slabs are used not only for tables and surfaces where customers consume food or drinks, but also in food zones where direct contact with food may occur, such as countertops and bar service areas (with the exception of use in storage and/or preservation applications).

Declare Label® is the only label that screens materials against the “Red List,” the list of the most toxic chemicals for human health and the ecosystem.

UNI EN ISO14067

UNI EN ISO 14067

The Product Carbon Footprint (CFP) is the quantification of a product’s overall impact on global warming. CCC Certification (China)

CCC stands for “China Compulsory Certificate.” Certain product groups must obtain a CCC certificate before they can be exported to China. This is a mandatory certification in China. The CCC certification is comparable to other certifications for product quality and safety standardization, such as the European CE system.

The CCC certificate was introduced in 2002. The authorities responsible for CCC (China Compulsory Certification) in China include the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA), the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), and the China Certification Centre for Automotive Products (CCAP).
